Voley playa Barcelona

Playing beach volleyball in a city like Barcelona is great fun. The fine sand, the warm climate and the passionate beach volleyball culture are 3 perfect ingredients you’ll need to enjoy the sport and meet new people, both locals and tourists.

Barcelona has many volleyball courts on its beaches. In this article, we have chosen the best ones to visit throughout the year, although they’re at their busiest in summer.

If you love the sea and you’d like an unforgettable experience during your holidays in Barcelona, at the end of the article we recommend 3 exciting and thrilling activities such as kayaking, a helicopter ride and a sailing boat trip.

Beach volleyball on Playa Barceloneta

Barceloneta is the most famous beach in the city as its usually full of tourists, many of whom spontaneously organise beach volleyball teams. If you’d also like to learn how to play, then every Tuesday (from 7 pm to 8:30 pm), in Espai de Mar, you’ll get the chance to attend a beach volleyball class for €18.

Beach volleyball on Playa Bogatell

Playa Bogatell has table tennis tables, a football pitch and, of course, a beach volleyball court. It’s great for a refreshing dip in the sea once you’ve had your sports workout, all in good company.

Beach volleyball on Playa de la Nova Icària

Considered the quietest beach in the city, along with Playa Bogatell, it boasts a games area, ping pong table and two beach volleyball courts close to the Olympic Port.

Beach volleyball on Playa de la Mar Bella

If ever there was a beach in Barcelona related to sport, it’s Playa de la Mar Bella. Next to it is a sports centre, a rugby pitch, athletics track, skate park, basketball hoop, table tennis tables, water sports… and beach volleyball courts. Also take note that it has a nudist area.

Beach volleyball on Playa de Llevant

For a long time, the factories and high-rise buildings along the seafront hid this beautiful beach. This beach allows dogs and is considered one of the best places for pets in Spain. It has a volleyball court and you don’t have to leave your dog at home!

The best water-related activities in Barcelona

Parasailing Barcelona

As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, WorldExperience offers several small-sized group and private tours. We recommend the following:

Paddle surf, kayak and parasailing in Barcelona. Includes 15 minutes of parachuting over Barcelona’s coastline and an hour of kayaking or paddle surfing.

Helicopter flight and boat trip in Barcelona. You can see the coast from the air with a helicopter flight and from the sea with a speedboat trip.

Sailing boat trip with vineyard visit. A quiet trip with an aperitif on board, a visit to a winery in Alella, wine sampling and a private transfer back to Barcelona.
