There are plenty of ways to catalogue the Spanish wines. Several national and international contests are responsible each year to choose the best wines of the country and, among them, several of them are Catalan.

Can Bas Monreal 2013

Can Bas, one of the best wineries in Penedès, dedicates the name of one of its most exquisite wines to the lineage of farmers Monreal, who cultivated that same plot for more than a century after the phylloxera. That daily work for so long has left its mark on the land and the vineyard.

The wine, aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, has an ideal power and complexity to accompany meat dishes, cheeses and stews.

Turó de les Abelles 2013

This Red wine with designation originated from Penedès, from the Viladellops Estate, was the big winner from the Gran Vinari Prizes of 2017. It has received the “Best red wine” and the “Gran Vinari de Oro” and the best “Ecological wine”. Few more than 2.000 bottles are produced by syrah y garnacha in equal parts per year.

Porrera 2014 Vi de Vila

From the Celler Val Llanch winery in Priorat, this elaborated Red wine is made with Cariñena grapes (70%) and Garnacha (30%) from centuries old wineries, giving it a personal touch.

Grans Muralles 2014

The magazine “The Gentelman” of El Confidencial surrendered to this Spanish red wine from the Miguel Torres winery, denomination of origin Conca de Barberà, saying that year after year it continues to excite and impose itself on fashions, styles and situations. The slate soil and the use of monastrell, garnacha, cariñena and recovered native varieties make it special.

Turó d’en Mota 2005

On the famous Recardedo winery, in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, they procduce some of the best cavas in the world. Turó d’en Mota 2005 is one of the most elegant sparkling wines that exist, something that was believed to be within the reach of only the highest quality champagnes. Its long aging and an artisan elaboration, with a natural cork or the handmade disgorgement, is noticeable in its Mediterranean flavor.

Pere Ventura Great Vintage 2012

Another cava that stands out above the rest is the Great Vintage 2012 from the Pere Ventura winery, in Sant Sadurní de Anoia. It is a sparkling wine, aged for 36 months in underground cellars, with xarel·lo and macabeo grapes.

In the nose, the elegant wine, with citrus notes, a full creamy flavor and fresh fruits, is the ideal cava for any special celebration.

Collbaix Singular Blanc d’Àmfora 2013

The Mas Bosch Winery, located at the foot of the Montserrat mountain, produces this white wine considered one of the best by the Vins de Catalunya Guide. Denomination of origin of the Pla de Bages, is a wine with peach and apricot aromas, fresh, voluminous and sweet on the palate that makes anyone salivate.
