Meet your guide in Lisbon city center and embark on a journey to Palácio da Bacalhôa, a magnificent estate that embodies the grandeur of Portuguese wine culture. As you make your way to the winery, you’ll cross the stunning Tagus River, soaking in breathtaking views from the iconic 25 de Abril Bridge – a perfect prelude to your adventure! Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a local guide who will introduce you to the history of the Bacalhôa family and their influence on the region’s winemaking traditions. In addition to its rich winemaking history, Palácio da Bacalhôa is also renowned for its impressive art collection. This collection enhances the cultural experience of the winery, offering visitors a unique perspective on the integration of art and wine in the region.

Begin your visit with a tour of the Quinta da Bacalhôa vineyards, where you will learn about the grape varieties, wine growing, and winemaking processes unique to this region. Next, step back in time as you explore a 15th century building within the estate, followed by a visit to the beautifully manicured Buxo Gardens and the enchanting Casa do Lago. This part of the tour will culminate in a wine tasting session where you will savor three exquisite wines: One white, One red and One muscatel.

After the winery experience, travel to the charming city of Setubal, renowned as the heart of Portugal’s fishing industry. Begin with a visit to the Mercado do Livramento, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of local delicacies paired with a glass of wine, immersing yourself in the region’s vibrant gastronomic culture.

Next, explore Setúbal’s historic center, including the Jesus Convent, a National Monument. The tour culminates with a visit to the São Filipe Castle, where you can admire the stunning Capela Joanina and take in breathtaking views of the Setubal Bay, considered one of the most beautiful in the world.
