The first stop of this route is in Santa Ana square, a lively place with a lot of history. There a must visit is the famous bar “Cervecería Alemana”, which for more than a century has been known for its beers and tapas. It is ideal to order some portions to share, such as ham and cheese croquetas and patatas bravas.

The next stop is the neighborhood of La Latina, which is known for its streets full of bars and terraces. A very popular place among locals and tourists is La Taberna de los Huevos de Lucio, it is worth ordering “huevos rotos con jamón” and a plate of “calamares a la romana”, which are spectacular. The attention of the staff at this place is exceptional, which makes the experience even better. 

 

 

After that, the next stop is Casa Lucas, whose speciality is the famous “gildas”. These are skewers consisting of olives, anchovies and chili peppers in vinegar. They are really good and perfect with a cold beer. 

The last stop is the bar “La Venecia”,  a place with a lot of history and tradition. This bar is known for its wines and tapas, and you can also order cheese and a charcuterie board to go with the wine. The place is very authentic and has a decoration that makes you feel like you are in another era.
