DAY 1: EXPLORE THE HISTORIC CENTER

Start your day by exploring the historic center of Porto, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the iconic Clérigos Tower and climb up to the top for a breathtaking view of the city. Then, head to the Livraria Lello, a historic bookstore that inspired J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Afterward, explore the narrow streets and alleys of the Ribeira district, which is full of charming cafes, restaurants, and shops.

In the afternoon, visit the São Bento train station to admire its stunning azulejo tiles. Then, head to the Cathedral of Porto, also known as Sé do Porto, and explore its impressive Gothic architecture. End your day by walking along the Douro River and watching the sunset over the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge.

DAY 2: WINE TASTING IN VILA NOVA DE GAIA

Start your second day by crossing the Dom Luís I Bridge to Vila Nova de Gaia, where you can visit the famous port wine cellars. Take a guided tour of one of the many wineries and learn about the history and production of this famous wine. Don’t forget to sample some of the delicious port wines!

In the afternoon, head back to Porto and visit the Palácio da Bolsa, a beautiful 19th-century building that used to be the stock exchange. Then, take a stroll through the trendy neighborhood of Cedofeita, which is full of hip cafes, boutiques, and street art.

DAY 3: DAY TRIP TO GUIMARAES

On your last day, take a day trip to Guimarães, which is often referred to as the «cradle of Portugal» as it was the birthplace of the country’s first king. Visit the Guimarães Castle and the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, which are both located in the historic center of the city and offer a glimpse into the country’s medieval past.

In the afternoon, stroll through the charming streets and squares of the city and enjoy some local cuisine at one of the many restaurants and cafes. Return to Porto in the evening, and if time allows, head to the beach in Matosinhos to enjoy some fresh seafood and watch the sunset.
