The experience begins at the top of Passeig de Gràcia, where you’ll set off to explore Montserrat, Catalonia’s iconic mountain, home to a historic Benedictine Monastery. Just a short trip from Barcelona, Montserrat is the perfect nature getaway. On the way, marvel at Montserrat’s rugged, needle-shapes peaks.

Upon arrival, visit the 10th -century Monastery, still active today with over 70 monks, and home to the revered figure of La Moreneta, Catalonia’s patron saint. After exploring the Monastery, you’ll descend the mountain aboard the scenic Cremallera de Montserrat, a rack railway offering breathtaking views as it winds down to the village of Monistrol.

Located at the base of Montserrat, Monistrol de Montserrat is a charming village that perfectly complements the grandeur of the mountain towering above it. The true charm of Monistrol lies not only in its proximity to one of Catalonia’s most famous landmarks but also in the unique blend of elements that make this village so special.

In Monistrol, you’ll take a walk through the village before enjoying a traditional Catalan brunch at a typical restaurant that captures the essence of regional cuisine. Savor authentic flavors in a cozy setting, surrounded by the timeless beauty of the landscape. After this enriching half-day experience, you’ll return to the heart of Barcelona by bus.
